So me and me and a couple of people on my tlist, mostly @varlandgear with help from @upshot and @kill-claudio-vol-2 made up a FUTURISTIC ARTHURIAN RETELLING!! and tentatively cast it AND I’M OBSESSED W/ IT. 

Guinevere (Frieda Pinto, or alternately Angel Coulby) the princess of a small and vulnerable nation makes a politically arranged marriage with Prince Arthur (John Boyega). Lancelot is a soldier who has been hailed as a hero after being instrumental in stopping the last cyborg uprising that was violently putdown. Despite his hero status, he spends most of his time in bitter self-loathing. (UNTIL GUINEVERE GIVES HIM PURPOSE AGAIN, ETC.) 

Guinevere is at first glance ICY AND HAUGHTY but this covers secret vulnerabilities and a passionate love for her nation. She is also genuinely a devout follower of the planet’s dominant religion. I’m not sure what it’s tenets are exactly but it is centered around nun’s who live in CONVENTS ON SPACESHIPS. Astronaut nuns who are also scientists, science and astronomy is very important to the religion. The head of this is the matriarch/space pope (Nichelle Nichols) with whom Guinevere has a complicated mentor/mentee relationship.

Prince Arthur, however, is in love with his half-sister Morgan (Tatiana Maslany) who his mother’s daughter from a previous marriage. BUT MORGAN died sometime in the past and was ROBOCOP’D and is now living life as a superhuman cyborg. The majority of cyborg’s live as a permanent underclass of society, but Morgan has retained her status as a member of the royal family. While she is also in love with Arthur she is also secretly the leader of the UNDERGROUND CYBORG REVOLUTION.

Morgan is mostly the leader of the revolution because she has CONNECTIONS but the rest of the revolutionaries have complicated feelings because of her privileged life in comparison with most cyborg’s. Morgan’s bff and protege (Taylor Momsen) who is teaching Morgan the harsh realities of cyborg life and is torn between her loyalty to Morgan and lingering questions about Morgan’s place in the revolution. Other members of the cyborg revolution include Saorise Ronan, Karen Gillan, Michael B. Jordan, and Suraj Sharma.

Tristan (Jake T. Austin) and Isolde (Sophie Turner) are hedonistic rich kids and members of Arthur’s court circle who get DRAWN INTO THE REVOLUTION.

Jenna Louise Coleman is a plucky girl reporter who is out to expose corruption in the government. 

Jaime Alexander and Gwendoline Christie are Knights of the Table idk also they are in love.

(Lucy Liu) is the First Cyborg who is long dead, OR IS SHE.

Merlin is yet to be cast but options include Daniel Kaluuya, Gillan Anderson, and the dude who plays Nolan on revenge.

Mads Mikkelson and Alicia Vikander are evil married courtiers.

Uther and Igraine are as yet UNCAST.
